On Saturday 30th April we gathered at Blauvelt Park for an Amazing Picnic. The sun shone brightly and warmly and many members and visitors enjoyed the hospitality of Ashley & Chris. The highlight of the day was a roam through their Maze - enjoyed by young and old. Such was the success of the day we are planning another towards the end of the year at a nearby venue.

Once again we attended the Noorat Show in November with a photographic display. This featured photos from two albums we have at our Museum - one of an Empire Day Parade in 1914 and the other of the 1939 Back to Terang Parade. Our books were also on sale on the day. It was great to see such interest in our display and to have former residents reminisce about Terang.  We will be there again next November!

In November last we launched our newest book - Panoramas of Terang. This features photos of Terang & district taken with a wide lens camera. Many of these photos were taken by Robert Scott who lived in Terang in his early years before moving to Cobden where he operated a garage. We were pleased to have Robert Scott's granddaughter, Sue, with us on the day of the launch and she was able to tell us a bit about her grandfather.

The book is available from the Society or at the Terang Post Office for $20.00 each.

We have continued to have guest speakers this year. In February we had Ted Peers speak about his life on Lighthouses. His wife Anne also told us about what it meant to be a "lighthouse wife".

In April we enjoyed Peter Habersberger telling us about his grandfather's war experiences.

Margaret Cole and Margaret Wadelton were our June speakers, giving us an interesting and entertaining account of their lives here in Terang.

Frank Riches will be our August speaker, telling us about his life at The Sisters.
